Job Description
2 vacancies have arisen for "hands on" Manufacturing Technicians with a local Basingstoke employer.
The successful candidate will take pride in their work and workplace, have a flexible attitude towards their work and be willing to take on extra responsibility when required.
Duties include:-
" Laying up & cutting of raw carbon fibre.
" Moulding the carbon fibre to required shape using a hot press.
" Tool set up; preparation; loading; operation; unloading; & linishing.
" Machining of carbon fibre components.
" Testing and self inspection of components
" Polishing of carbon fibre components.
" Self Inspection.
" Complete and understand relevant department documentation.
Essential Skills Required:-
" At least 2 years mechanical engineering work experience of a factory/shop floor environment, running batches, not just one offs.
" Process/machine experience - machine operative experience/capability.
" Ability to operate self-inspection.
Desirable Skills
" City & Guilds/BTEC/Apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering would be advantageous, but not essential.
" Previous experience of working with carbon fibre would be advantageous, but not essential.
Double day shifts are operated at this company - 06.30 - 14.30 and 14.00 - 22.00 (37.5 hours per week). For those working on the double shift system a 20% shift allowance is available.
