Job Description

Creative Services Centre Technician

Salary in the range £22,236 – £26,523 per annum

Winchester School of Art

This is an exciting opportunity to take on a new senior Technician role in the School’s newly launched Creative Service Centre (CSC). CSC is a hub comprising state of the art digital printing and laser cutting equipment. You will be responsible for producing the work submitted by staff and students and for developing the commercial opportunities afforded by the CSC to generate additional revenue from external users. You will need to have experience of Mac OS operating system, good numeracy skills and relevant knowledge of digital printing in a wide range of formats and materials. Experience in the use of laser cutting equipment is also desirable but training will be offered to otherwise suitable candidates.

You will set up and arrange for the maintenance of equipment and working spaces, provide induction on specialist equipment, ensure students work in a safe environment and control stock and equipment. You will work closely with the Graphic Arts Technician who is based in CSC. You will need to be a self-starter, an excellent communicator, well organised, have a health and safety mindset and be prepared to work flexible hours at exhibition times.
